20 Second Cave-In
Created for the 20 Second Game Jam 2024
In 20 Second Cave-In, you play as a little ghost avoiding falling debris in a cave.
This game plays like Tetris with a twist, instead of completing lines to score, you're placing blocks to help your ghost reach his family.
20 SECONDS TO REACH THE TOP
Use the WASD keys to guide your ghost to the top, and arrow keys to move the falling blocks. Take care not to crush the ghost with your block!

REally enjoyed the concept! its a nice twist on a classic game. i think that fact however is what makes it really need some kind of tutorial screen or reminder that you are controlling both the player and the tetris, i was so used to one over the other that initially i thought the tetris was automatic :c
Thank you so much for playing! Yes, after some playtesting I do agree that this needed an in-game tutorial. We initially thought the player would intuitively know after the first couple of attempts but a more hands-on instruction would definitely be better haha
Really love the concept, the art is solid (I really like the little animations for the ghost, they're really smooth and look great) and the music and sound effects really fit the retro spooky vibe of the game.
I haven't managed to reach my ghostly family yet, I think at most I've managed to get about 5-6 rows up, will have to play a bit more.
I'm not sure if it would make the game too easy but my only thought is perhaps you could have a double jump or some ability to hold onto the side of blocks so you can more easily climb up.
Really nice work!
Thank you so much for playing and the feedback! Yes, during playtesting the jump height was two blocks but we felt that it felt too easy for a twenty-second game, but we're now considering adding a difficulty option to increase the jump height so that more people can beat it.
